New Year, New Portfolio
Greetings, fellow developers and design enthusiasts! I'm thrilled to present the culmination of eight years of evolution—my brand-new personal portfolio website powered by Next.js and fueled by the dynamic content management system, Sanity.io.
How do you like the new look?
In this iteration, my portfolio is not just a collection of projects; it's a living testament to my journey from designer/merchandiser to a full-stack developer. Leveraging Next.js, I've crafted a striking yet minimalist front-end, maximizing real estate to showcase my latest work, skills, and best practices as a front-end developer. The design exudes consistency and incorporates subtle micro-interactions and animations, ensuring a clutter-free yet engaging user experience.
Motivation
This redesign wasn't just a visual overhaul; it was a necessity born from the profound transformation in my career. As my skills evolved, so did my need for a digital space that not only showcases my work but also serves as a template for my freelance projects. The goal was clear—to utilize cutting-edge technologies, facilitate easy updates, and create a platform for blogging tutorials and discoveries.
Technology Stack:
Next.js takes the lead in the front-end, embracing API routes for seamless data exchange and dynamic XML mapping for a improved Search Engine Optimisation. Sanity.io steps in as the content management system, offering flexibility and efficiency in managing and updating content.
Roadmap for Future Development:
Now that I've set the foundations for my site I have big plans for 2024. Stay tuned for additional content across the site, specifically blog updates and tutorials as I begin new projects and fine tune my site. As I learn new tricks and snippets, so will you!
Long term vision:
Looking ahead, I'm eager to delve into emerging technologies such as AI and Gamification. An AI-driven chatbot could pave the way for more interactive and lead-generating experiences, plus look out for a showcase of 'mini game' toy projects which I've been working on for a couple of months now
